數(shù)字翻譯(Interpreting Numbers)

(1)分數(shù)（Fractions)

分子用基數(shù)詞,分母用序數(shù)詞。當分子為1時，分母用單數(shù)；當分子為2或2以上 時，分母用復數(shù)。

二分之一：a/ one half 四分之一:a/ one quarter 四分之三:three quarters

五分之一：one-fifth 十分之九:nine-tenths

當分子和分母的數(shù)目很大時,可用over將分子、分母隔幵。

九十分之四十六：forty-six over ninety

二十八分之一十三：thirteen over twenty-eight

帶分數(shù)的表達方式：整數(shù)后面用and連接。

五又三分之二 ：five and two-thirds

十五又四分之一-fifteen and one quarter

(2)小數(shù)（Decimals)

小數(shù)點的英語為poim，小數(shù)點前面的數(shù)如果是零的話，可讀成zero(美式）或

naught(英式)，或者省略不讀。小數(shù)點后面的數(shù)字都讀成個位數(shù)，如果是零的話,就讀 成0(/ou/),例如:

0. 5：point five； zero/naught point 5

0. 357：point three five seven； zero/naught point three five seven 0. 004 ：zero/naught point o o four 78. 34： seventy-eight point three four

漢語里常常在表示大數(shù)目的時候,用小數(shù)點表示,譯成英語時,一般還原為英語 的數(shù)字表達法。例如：

零點九萬（0. 9 萬）:nine thousand 零點三億(0. 3 億）：ninety million

五點八四萬（5. 84 萬）：fifty-eight thousand and four hundred

(3)模糊數(shù)字(Indefinite Numbers)

大約，大概，......左右：about / around/ some / approximately / roughly

少于、小于、低于、不到、不足、以下..fewer than / less than / under / below 多于、大于、高于、超過、以上:more than / over / above /• •. and more 將近、接近、差不多、幾乎、差一點：nearly / almost / toward / close on 數(shù)十/ 幾十 / 好幾十/ 數(shù)十年：tens of (20—99); dozens of ( 24 — 99);

scores of (40—99) decades of ( 20—99) 數(shù)百/數(shù)以百計/好幾百hundreds of (200—999) 數(shù)千/數(shù)以千計/好幾千：thousands of (2,000—9999) 數(shù)萬/ 數(shù)以萬計/好幾萬：tens of thousands of (20,000—99,999) 數(shù)十萬/好幾十萬：hundreds of thousands of (200,000—999,999) 數(shù)百萬/好幾百萬:millions of <2,000,000—9,999,999) 數(shù)千萬/好兒千萬:tens of millions of (20,000,000—99,999,999) 數(shù)億/好幾億/億萬:hundreds of millions of (200,000,000—999,999,999) 數(shù)十億/好幾十億：billions of (2,000,000,000—9,999,999,999)
